Here we go

Well folks something interesting went down at work today. Turns out another member of our Finance and Accounting Team is leaving. My old boss Jason the Senior Accountant has decided to leave us. Turns out he has a great opportunity and I wish him well. It wasn't completely surprising and I actually kind of expected it sooner or later but it leaves us in a tough position. Patrick my current boss and I are going to have the full load of all Finance and Accounting responsibilities starting next week. We have been doing a lot to revamp the system fixing old problems and new ones that arise. Really this situation can be looked upon in two ways; 1. You can be like oh shit... looks like I am going to be stuck at work for some long hours... or 2. WOW here are some serious opportunities to really go through aspects of a business and really learn how things work and figure out ways to make them better. I personally choose the latter. I am excited to keep working closely with Patrick and get things back on track and maybe even better than before. We have some new good guidance in the CFO position as well and I look forward to really putting in some hard work and getting a wealth of knowledge from this experience.

So with all that said I will let those of you I haven't talked to in on a little of what went on last weekend. Our (Tim, Graham and I's) good friend Jessica Mosier came out to Denver last weekend for interviews for her Residency as a Psychiatrist. She got all of the business out of the way on Friday and really liked the Hospital and opportunities. I HOPE she decides to come out here though she does have a big decision since Bobby will still be in Philly finishing up school but will see what happens.

Anywho we went out Friday in D-Town with Jess and her friend Charissa who is a lawyer out here. We had an awesome time just sitting around drinking at a sweet Irish Pub called Scruffy Murphy's. Nothing crazy happened we just got really shit faced and had a killer time. Saturday we woke up and went out and worked the hang over off at Wash Park downtown playing frisbee since it was like 50 and Sunny. Then spent the rest of the night watching the X-Games at a Bar close to Graham's place. Sunday Tim and I took off up to Keystone and had a great day riding. But here comes the story of the weekend.

As Tim and I were on our way home we were driving up Loveland Pass right at A-Basin. There is a big curve going up the pass right at the resort where skiers cross over into the parking lot. I saw that there was a lead car for a wide load before we got to the corner so I knew something was coming. Then as we get to the corner the wide load was coming around as well. I am not going over 20-25 mph hour and as I come around the corner there is a dumbass skier standing literally on the side of the road with his skies on his shoulder sticking out into the road. The wide load is coming around the corner and I have to move over with no where to go cause of the freakin skier not even paying attention and as I do the wide load comes over the center line making the turn and scrapes all the way down the side of the Jetta and SMASHES MY DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR OFF! Tim and I are both stunned and pissed at the skier who was oblivious. We get to the next curve and pull off into a parking lot expecting the side of the Jetta to be literally destroyed. Turns out there was just a scratch all the way down the car just below the windows and off course the mirror was blown off. Anyway we were both glad we were ok and nothing more happened. I took it all pretty well though I am disappointed I have to put a little money into the Jetta for a new mirror since I want to get a Subaru sometime this year. But as I said we were just glad it wasn't any worse.

Well that's been the happenings of It's what he do lately. I'll keep you posted on the job situation and how it all plays out. Like I said I am looking forward to learning a lot and contributing more. Hope all is well with everyone and I miss you all.

Ramblings...

All in all it was a pretty peaceful weekend around here. Hung out on Friday night and Tim and I figured we would go up to Breckenridge today so I got to sleep in yesterday which was nice after a long week at work at least for Spatial standards fixing old problems that have been discovered taking up all my time to work on current tasks that need to be done. I know your workin the old midnight oil hours down there with E&Y Kate so I won't complain to much.

Anywho I finally got back on the bike Saturday as well with about an hour and half on the trainer. It felt super good and I think I am going to be back into it. Gotta get those sit bones back in shape for the riding season. Not to mention I just felt a lot better after being on the bike so it's time to get back at it. Tim and I also got the UFC fight at home so we watched that and Graham came up to join us as well. Sounds like he won't be around to much longer if all goes to plan. He is going to be headin up to Portland at some point to start gettin residency up there to head back to school. Things weren't really workin out for him down here and he had looked at Portland in the first place so it will be good for him.

Today Tim and I did in fact head up to Breckenridge and his friend Alexis came along as well. She actually drove which is a trip let me tell you. I can't look out the front window most of the time. Chick is hell on wheels behind the wheel. Glad the roads were clear or I would have been truly shittin my pants. It is always interesting going with the two of them. We never really seem to get much riding in. First off because we leave later than I would normally like to and secondly Alexis keeps up but she seems to fall behind at times just fiddling around. Today was a prim example. I am even kind of chuckling about it to myself cause I wish I could have been there to see it! We got up to Breck and waited in line forever because of course we got there at like 11 and most people are coming out around then. Then we decided to take the T-Bar up above the tree line... which first off is no easy task for one snowboarder let alone two on the same one. For those of you who don't know what it is I don't really want to explain it at this moment but the lift pulls you up vs riding it like a lift chair. Anyway since there were 3 of us I went up with another skier because the line was so long they were doubling everyone up. That left Alexis and Tim to ride up together. There was no way I was going up with her haha. I had never seen her on a T-Bar so I wasn't going to risk it. Anyway I get to the top and they are no where to be found. I check my phone and of course there is a message they didn't make it up so they were going to head down. I tried to get back to them to see where they would be but they didn't get back right away so I decided to find my line and head down. I made some killer turns above the tree line and got ahold of them saying they decided to grab a beer while they wait! How long did they think I would be I mean seriously! We had only gotten one run in for crying out loud!

So I got down to them and they tried to tell me the T-Bar had broke on them. My response "Bullshit, you guys are lying you totally didn't make it!" I was right. I guess they had looked like total idiots trying to get started on the T-Bar. Tim got the bar behind him but Alexis evidently more or less missed it and got drug like 20 ft before letting go! Then the lifty was like sorry you can't get back on... Expert Terrain only get back in line if you want to go again. So Tim was pissed at that because of course he could have made it if it was me and him or anyone else for that matter. It really isn't easy though so I didn't give Alexis to tough of a time. But man I wish I could have been there to take a picture of those two.

We eventually got over to the other side of the mountain after the two kids finished their beers and we actually got some really good riding in. Tim and I found some good stuff to fly off of and Alexis was working on some good tricks as well. She definitely gets caught up in trying to learn what Tim and I are doing which is good. So yeah it ended up being a pretty decent day on the sunny slopes of Breckenridge.

Alright that's enough ramblings I'll get at you later. Should be a good up coming weekend in Denver since Jessica Moser (Bobby Clase's girlfriend) is coming out for interviews at hospitals on Friday and she is going to be staying with a friend so Graham, Tim, and I are going to meet up with her and have some fun. I'll let you all know how it breaks down!

Glorious snow!

Words can't quite describe how phenomenal this weekend was! I am glad I am able to have a good post like this compared to my last one when I was frustrated that I couldn't make it to Steamboat.

Tim and I took off Thursday night to head up to the Boat and it couldn't have been at a better time. As we were coming over Rabbit Ears pass the snow was falling and we had a feeling Friday was going to be a good day but we couldn't have imagined that it would be as good as it was. We woke up to a snow report of 15 inches and it was all that and more... why because we know the good spots! Tim, Rob, Dave, one of Dave's buddies Eric, and I tore it up! We were terrorizing the trees and blowing off every drop we could find! Here is a video of me going through the rock garden just out of bounds around the Pony Express lift line.

After a fantastic day of riding we were exhausted but there were shows to be seen. Rob, Tim, and I went to the South Austin Jug Band show for ski jam and then went out to the bar for a few drinks. Of course we ended up a little tipsy and decided to take Saturday off even though the snow did not! Steamboat reported another dump of about 20 inches which would be prime for Sunday.

We awoke Sunday to another report of 8 inches and Keith was finally able to ride with us. He had been pretty under the weather but was finally able to get out. Tim, Keith, and I took off and got up just in time for Rob to join us for a few runs on his break from workin the lifts. We tore through Pony Express for a while and then met up with Julianne and continued to tear it up the rest of the day.

Here are a few pictures to top off the weekend I wish I could have everyday!
